WOMEN FOR WOMEN INTERNATIONAL: Commercial Integrated Farming

The recipient of the 2006 Hilton Humanitarian Prize, Women for Women International mobilizes women and supports the complex-specific needs of Sudanese women in developing sustainable micro-enterprises. This commercial integrated farming initiative is aimed specifically at improving socio-economic status through improved food security and income generation activities. This three multi-phase program includes training and education in the science and business of microenterprise and ago-development. Over the course of the three years Women for Women International will train 3000 women, introducing new skills and sustainable practices of commercial integrated farming, while engaging them beyond training and towards becoming agents of change in their community.
